Y House, Familienwohnsitz in Wien Donaustadt

Passivhaus mit zwei Wohneinheiten

Basierend auf einer landschaftsarchitektonischen Studie, die im Zusammenwirken von Architekten und Landschaftsarchitekten erstellt wurde, entstand die Ypsilon Grundrissform.

Das Gebäude öffnet sich zu den Himmelsrichtungen und bietet gleichzeitig durch seine Ausformung Schutz vor Einsichtnahme durch die umgebenden Wohnbauten. Die Pultdächer behaupten sich gegenüber den viel höheren Bauwerken der Umgebung. Die Metallfassade bietet wehrhaften Schutz im städtischen Kontext.

Residential

Y house, family residence in Vienna, Donaustadt

Passive house with two residential units

Based on a landscape architectonic study, carried out in collaboration between architects and landscape architects, the Y-shaped floor plan was developed. The building opens itself towards cardinal directions yet at the same time, through its formation, protects itself against unwanted inspection from the surrounding residential buildings. The pent roofs stand up against the much higher constructions in the surroundings. The metal facade conveys a sense of strong protection in an urban context.
